Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency technology to tighten the skin. The treatment heats the deeper collagen-rich layers to encourage collagen stimulation and tighten the skin. With one session, Thermage provides extraordinary results which continue to improve over time. I often use Thermage on faces with thin skin and no fat.

Like most devices, Thermage went through its fair share of development and over the years we have seen many generations of Thermage. When Thermage CPT came in, it was a huge advancement from its predecessor STC Tip and enabled better distribution of energy and delivery of radiofrequency which gave better end result to the patient. The latest Thermage FLX comes with a larger tip that quickens the treatment process and has a little better cooling system. Albeit these changes, I personally prefer Thermage CPT that helps me to deliver energy precisely. And how does Thermage tightens the skin? Stay tuned for my next video.
What Is Thermage And How Does It Work?
Thermage is a monopolar radio frequency. This energy heats the tissue to a certain depth causing collagen remodelling, stimulation and rejuvenation. Thermage is an FDA approved treatment for skin tightening.
What Is The Procedure Like?
A numbing cream is applied on the area of treatment. Dr Rashmi Shetty then plans the distribution of the number of shots and the energies. We use only the best, most advanced total tip.
The procedure takes an hour to complete. At the end of the treatment, you may feel a mild redness and some heat on the area treated.
What Can I Expect From Thermage?
- Tighter skin
- Reduction in pore size
- Glowing skin, with a shine like it is more tightly wrapped
- Tighter skin under the neck
- Skin on your lower tummy, above the knees, inner thighs can also be tightened.
When Do I See The Results?
Results appear soon after the treatment and keep on improving up until 3 months.
How Long Do The Results Last?
Equipments meant for anti-ageing whether skin lifting or tightening are meant to take your skin back in age. From there on you start ageing again.
So the question of how long the results will last, depends on you.
On an average, we schedule repeated sittings anywhere between 6 months to one year.
