WHAT IS BIO-REMODELLING OF THE SKIN?

Bio-remodelling of the skin is designed to alter the structure of the skin itself in a manner which dramatically improves skin laxity, overall firmness, and hydration. These injectables deliver profound hydration to the skin, thus delaying the signs of ageing and sagging. Bio-remodelling injectables are made from powerful next generation hyaluronic acid which stimulates the skin’s ability to produce collagen and elastin, which tends to decline as we age. WHAT IS PROFHILO?

Simply put, Profhilo is a bio-remodelling treatment where hyaluronic acid works at its best. Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid and delivers prolonged efficacy without the addition of cross-linking chemical agents. It is in compliance with European and FDA standards. In addition to this, Profhilo is:

WHERE CAN PROFHILO BE USED?

DOES PROFHILO HURT AND IS THIS TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Profhilo is injected with a fine needle and causes minimal discomfort.

HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?

The Profhilo procedure is a lunchtime procedure which typically takes around 30 minutes per session to be completed.

WHAT IS THE EXPECTED DOWNTIME AFTER THE TREATMENT?

The downtime is minimal. When injected using the five point technique on each side of the face, each insertion is immediately noticeable. However, they start diffusing very quickly and they disappear within a day.

WHAT IS THE POST-PROCEDURE CARE ADVICE?

It is recommended to avoid physical strain and sports for 24 hours and any further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours. Steamy baths or sauna are to be avoided for the first few days. It is best to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROFHILO?

During the use of Profhilo, symptoms such as pain, the sensation of heat, or minor swelling may appear at the injection site. These secondary emergences can be relieved by applying ice to the treated area. They generally disappear in a short period of time.

WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR PROFHILO?

Profhilo must not be used in concurrence with treatments such as laser resurfacing and medium deep skin-peeling. It is up to the expertise of Dr. Shetty to decide what this treatment can be combined with, and if so in what manner, so as to give you the best outcome for yourself.
