What is PDRN and How Does It Work?
Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) consists of DNA fragments extracted from the sperm cells of salmon trout. It is a minimally invasive injectable treatment designed to promote angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, soft tissue regeneration, skin revitalization, and pigmentation reduction.
PDRN works by activating A2A receptors, which modulate the inflammatory response and enhance tissue repair and healing. This is achieved through a significant increase in the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a key regulator of angiogenesis. Additionally, PDRN suppresses melanogenesis by inhibiting melanogenic gene expression and tyrosinase enzymatic activity.
What Is the Procedure Like?
The procedure typically takes 15-20 minutes or less and involves the following steps:
1. The treatment area is thoroughly cleansed, and an ice pack or numbing cream is applied, depending on the patient’s sensitivity.
2. Dr. Rashmi Shetty administers the treatment using a very fine needle.
3. Post-procedure, the team ensures your comfort by gently massaging the treated area.
What Can I Expect?
– Improved skin texture
– Oxidative damage repair
– Hair regeneration
– Enhanced healing
– Brighter and more even skin tone
– Improved elasticity
– Overall skin rejuvenation
When Will I See Results?
Results may become noticeable a few weeks after the procedure. However, optimal outcomes are typically achieved after 3-4 sessions spaced 1-2 months apart.
How Long Do the Results Last?
The longevity of results depends on the number of sessions and treatment frequency, which Dr. Rashmi Shetty will determine during your consultation. Generally, results last between 3-6 months.
Are There Any Risks?
Although rare, potential side effects may include mild inflammatory reactions, temporary bumps, bruising, or discoloration at the injection site. These effects typically resolve on their own within a week. Complications are uncommon.
