How to take care of your skin and hair for the festival of Holi?

Holi, also known as the festival of colors, is around the corner and the hype for it is as big as ever. Originally celebrated with dry gural and buckets of water has now evolved into into splashes of chemical filled synthetic powder which not only irritated our skin but also might leave permanent damage to our skin and hair. Even though the phrase ‘Bura Na Mano Holi hai’ is the motto of the festival, it might have some serious effects later on.

Skin Care Hacks

  • DO NOT FORGET TO MOISTURIZE.

    Moisturizeing help in removing the color from your skin more easily. Natural ingredients-based moisturizers like coconut-based moisturizers are good for your skin. Remember to moisturize your whole body along with you face.

  • APPLY A SUNSCREEN

    Since it gets very hot during this season and all that color and skin can aggravate skin damage.

  • USE CLEANSING MILK.

    It is best used to remover hard colors from skin, leave on for about 5 minutes and wash it with luke warm water.

  • USE OILS TO REMOVE COLOR.

    Olive oil is a mild oil which is great for your skin. Use cotton balls to gently wipe of the color off your skin after holi.

  • TAKE A BATH IMMEDEITLY

    After playing holi as it is easier to remove the color and make sure not to use too hot water as it may irritate the skin more.

  • DOUSE YOURSELF IN HYDRATION

    Since the colors tend to dry your skin a lot, drink a lot of water and use hydrating masks post holi. You can also take a tablet of RA Skin Hydrate and RA Skin Bright along with this to give extra protection.

Hair Care Hacks

  • MASSAGE YOUR SCALP AND HAIR

    With a coconut-based hair oil. It acts as a barrier and prevents colors from coming in direct contact with the hair cuticles and scalp, which mean less damage and scalp irritation.

  • TIE YOUR HAIR UP

    Leaving your hair open means damaged and tangled strands. You can also wear a hair band/scarf or bandana around your head to avoid getting too much chemical based holi colors onto you scalp and hair.

  • WASH YOUR HAIR WITH PLAIN WATER

    So that most of the color comes of, then use a mild shampoo. It is possible for color residue to stick to your hair but don’t panic! It will fade away in 2 or 3 days

  • APPLY A HAIR MASK

    Your hair needs extra nourishment after holi as it is going to be severely dehydrated therefore apply a hair mask 2-3 days after to cure the damage caused by the colors.

  • BRUSH YOUR HAIR

    This helps in getting rid of dry colors stuck on your scalp.

  • TAKE IN YOUR SUPPLEMENTS REGULARLY

    You can have a tablet of RA Essential andRA Anagen to help in recovering your hair faster.
